Everything is bigger in Texas…Even the color! Viewer Boots Walker of San Antonio describes her DIY renovation of drab chairs, into Lone Star State ready décor:
Alright ya’ll, to make a statement, you’ve got to go high gloss. Start with some antique chairs, and find the brightest, shiniest high gloss/oil-based paint you can find. For my chairs, I decided to go red. Now before you start painting, you’ve got to do something with those seat cushions. I pulled those suckers off, and hit the nearest fabric store. Living in Texas made me realize, there is never enough cow print. I purchased a few yards of faux cowhide and recovered the cushions. All you need to do is wrap the fabric around the cushion and get yourself a heavy-duty industrial stapler and fasten it underneath. Now, as a southern lady, you never want to let the folks see you without your face, so take a look at the finished chairs. Always remember, make your house, into YOUR home. Home should always be a reflection of your style, and personality. Now go ahead ya’ll and make yourselves a signature piece. Have a DIY project of your own that you want to share?
