The Back Story

Here’s a kitchen project you will enjoy outside and inside your house. Almost every kitchen has a window, so why not hang a window box to grow fresh kitchen herbs? You can buy a ready-made box, and you’ll have fresh herbs like rosemary, basil, and sage right at your fingertips. Before you hang your box, make sure you measure and mark both sides so your box will be level. Then, plant your herbs and let nature do the rest. Whenever you paint inside your house, you can roast sage leaves to neutralize the smell of fresh paint.

The Back Story

When was the last time you cleaned your windows? Try a window cleaning kit with a squeegee and extension pole. A good squeegee will have a replaceable rubber blade. Fill a spray bottle with warm water and two drops of dish soap. Lay down an old towel to catch drips. Then just spray, and squeegee your window from top to bottom. A microfiber cloth cleans a squeegee blade after each downstroke. For a high-tech solution, try Winbot. That’s a window-cleaning robot that wipes and dries with the touch of a button.
